Introduction: With the increasing advancement of science and technology, methods of providing education, like other aspects of life, have undergone changes and transformations, the result of which is the presentation of electronic education methods or the same electronic learning. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the success of e-learning from the perspective of students of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Method: The present research is a cross-sectional study conducted in 2023 at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. To collect data, the questionnaire for evaluating the factors affecting the success of e-learning, a study by Sadeghi and colleagues, including 35 metrics
in 6 factors: student (4 metrics), professor (10 metrics), educational content (5 metrics), required facilities (7 metrics), management (5 metrics), rules and regulations (4 metrics), and 2 open questions related to the overall opinion of students were used. The tool was made available to students electronically and in person, and data analysis was performed using SPSS 20 software and linear regression statistical tests and Bonferroni post hoc test.
Findings: A questionnaire was given to 210 students, and according to the students' opinions, the best performance was related to the student factor, and the professor factor had the most need for improvement. The total score of the status of effective factors in the university was 4.62%, which indicates the above-average status of e-learning in the university.
Conclusion: By identifying the factors affecting the success of the e-learning system and eliminating its shortcomings, it is ensured that high-quality training is provided. Considering the results, the professor factor had the greatest need for improvement, and it is recommended to encourage participation in seminars and workshops on the topic of e-learning and create motivation for faculty members by providing a certificate with points. In addition, it is suggested that this tool be used in other studies, which will lead to the promotion of the tool and the elimination of its defects.
