Introduction: Training evaluation is an integral part of the education systems which helps managers making better decisions about curriculums. This study aims to investigate effectiveness of a workshop on evaluating health promotion programs which was held for health staffs Of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences.

Method: In this quasi experimental study a workshop on “Evaluating Health Promotion Programs” was evaluated based on Kirkpatrick's model. Data were collected through a self administered researcher designed questionnaire. Data were analyzed by appropriate statistical methods using SPSS V.19.

Results: Mean satisfaction of teaching method and workshop conditions were 38.97±7.89 and 45.67±5.62 respectively. Increasing knowledge had positive correlation with participants' satisfaction of teaching method (r=0.684, P=0.007). Participants' evaluation score about attending in the workshop (18.47±2.67) were positively correlated to workshop Environmental and Managerial conditions (r=0.545, P=0.019). 89.5 % of participants reported that they are willing to evaluate their health promotion programs in the future.

Discussion: For such workshops, teachers' selection teaching methods and workshop conditions should be considered. When using Kirkpatrick model, not only the descriptive results should be reported, but also it is important to report other analytical findings in order to achieve better results.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pop quiz on medical students’ learning in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed in the first semester of the academic year 2012-2013. Overall, 120 medical students who attended the neuroanatomy course participated in the study. Students were divided randomly into two groups of 60.Teaching in both control (n=30) and experimental groups (n=30) was performed with the same content and the same ‎lecturer. During the semester, eight quizzes were held in experiment group. Final test scores were entered into the SPSSV.18. Using descriptive statistical tests, average scores of both groups were determined. For determining the effect of tests on students’ performance, independent T-test was used. Results: The average scores of the experimental group was13.57 (±2.73) and in the control group was 14.32 (±3.04). However, learning score was higher, although not significant (P = 0.41). Abstract

Introduction: With the Coronavirus pandemic, disability and the students’ absence in clinical settings, the educational system of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences of Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences decided to hold a virtual grand round, teaching the clinical courses to address the shortcomings of clinical education. This study aimed to investigate the level of satisfaction and learning of students from holding the Grand Round.
Methods: The present study was quasi-experimental study. The study population consisted of 36 undergraduate students in physiotherapy and speech therapy; The Grand Round in specific cases of the disease was presented to students, in the clinical training. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire to assess the level of satisfaction with the virtual grand round and an electronic test to assess learning from the topics.
Results: The majority of students were moderate to highly satisfied (more than 70%) with the virtual grand round in speech therapy and physiotherapy groups. There was a significant difference between test scores before and after the grand round of the speech therapy group (P= 0.002), whereas, in the physiotherapy group there was no significant difference between the scores before and after the test (P= 0.3).
Conclusions: Regarding the level of students' satisfaction retaining the Grand Round and increasing their level of knowledge, it is suggested that virtual group discussions be held in clinical education courses in other faculties of rehabilitation sciences and related fields, especially during pandemic conditions of coronavirus and the impossibility of face-to-face training.

Abstract

Introduction: Due to the job sensitivity of medical sciences and its direct relationship with public health, the consequences of increasing the length of study of students will affect the society and the health system. Considering the importance of the length of study of PhD students and the lack of information about the reasons for its increase, this study was performed to identify the related factors.
Methods: There was a descriptive- correlational study. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. A total of 118 faculty members participated in completing the questionnaires. 37 employees and 71 students also completed the questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and analytical statistics with SPSS 24 software as well as quantitative content analysis.
Result: Factors related to the dissertation, especially the time-consuming publication of the defense condition article, had the greatest impact on increasing the length of study for PhD students. In quantitative content analysis, the most effective factors for students were dissertation-related factors and for faculty members and employees were personal issues.
Conclusion: According to the results, it is necessary to modify the grant process. Deduct the length of the course while the student is waiting for the article to be published. Allocate research projects that have been paused for an additional semester, excluding the academic year. Also, a plan should be developed to increase financial support for students during their studies.
