Ethical consideration

Ethical guidelines

All research involving human subjects submitted to the Journal of Medical Education Development (JMED) must be conducted with the approval of an appropriate ethics committee. Informed consent and the relevant ethics code must be documented in the article draft. The manuscript must clearly state the name of the ethics committee and describe the procedures followed to obtain informed consent from participants.
Research involving human subjects must comply with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, available at: https://www.wma.net/policies-post/wma-declaration-of-helsinki/. A statement of compliance with this declaration must appear in the Methods section of the manuscript. This statement should include the name of the approving ethics committee and, where applicable, the corresponding reference number.
The corresponding author must list the names of all authors based on their specific contributions to the manuscript. Each author shares responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the manuscript's content. All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the design, content development, data analysis, and interpretation. In addition, all authors should review and approve the final version of the manuscript prior to its submission for publication in the journal.
Participation in funding acquisition or data collection alone does not qualify for authorship. Except in large-scale studies, the number of authors should not exceed six. Individuals who provided minor support, such as reviewing the article or assisting with translation, should be acknowledged appropriately but not included in the list of authors.
The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) authorship guidelines must be followed. Authors must meet all three of the following criteria: significant contribution to the study design or data analysis/interpretation, drafting or critical revision of the manuscript, and final approval of the version to be published. Those who do not meet all three criteria should be named in the Acknowledgements section instead of being listed as authors. The editorial office of JMED requires transparency regarding authorship and contribution. The corresponding author must confirm that all authors have read and approved the manuscript and agree to its submission. All Ethical Guideline named authors must have significantly contributed to the conception, design, analysis, or drafting of the manuscript and share collective responsibility for its content.
